THEBERGE Delphis - 308653 (NA)

The history established by the Huron nation of Wendake is a bit wrong. Driver Theberge  could not participate in the Battle of Vimy since he was still in the hospital because of influenza and a urinal infection. He returned to the front on April 11, 1917 only.

Bernard Huot, his grand son sned this note : Of interest my Grandfather was jailed twice during the War. Once for distribution of rations without an officers order. Second, being drunk and disorderly on parade. (End of October 1918)

MM citation : For conspicuous dash and gallantry at INCHY on september 27th, 1918. While the battery was advancing to take up a position a heavy barrage was laid on the route followed. Several casualties to gun teams occured. they took in their own gun and volunteered to assist the other gun teams. they took in the two remaining guns and the battery was able to assist in the barrage the following morning.

L'histoire établie par la nation huronne de wendake est un peu erronée. Le driver Theberge n'a pas pu participer a la bataille de Vimy puisqu'il étais encore a l'hopital a cause de l'influenza et d'une infection urinaire. Il est revenus au front le 11 avril 1917 seulement.

Citation de MM: Pour une course et une bravoure remarquables à INCHY le 27 septembre 1918. Pendant que la batterie avançait pour occuper une position, un lourd barrage était posé sur la route suivie. Plusieurs blessés parmi les équipes de tireurs sont survenus. ils ont pris leur propre arme et se sont portés volontaires pour aider les autres équipes. ils ont pris les deux armes restantes et la batterie a pu participer au barrage le lendemain matin.
