PEREZ Guadalupe Castillo - 39548953 (HI)

At this time of printing, we have precious little information on the life and service of “Lupe” Pérez.
What we do know is that he was born on January 5th, 1918. Where he was born, we have not been able to ascertain. He was the third of our heroes to have lived on Olive Street in Westminster as a neighbor to Joe Agabo (PFC US Army WWII), and Joe Mendoza (PFC US Army—Korea).
We also know that his mother was Petra Cerda and that he had a least two brothers, Nick and Pete and one sister, Irene. He was married to Ruby.
His sister, Irene was married to Frank Palomino who was one of the plaintiffs in the “Méndez” Orange County desegregation case of 1947.
Guadalupe “Lupe” Pérez was KIA in the Pacific Theatre of operations on September 8, 1943. At this time we’re not sure which campaign he was participating in, nor which units he was assigned to. His remains rest at the Westminster Memorial Park cemetery at the Garden of Olives section.

Guadalupe “Lupe” Pérez était KIA dans le théâtre d’opérations du Pacifique le 8 septembre 1943. Nous ne savons pas encore à quelle campagne il a participé ni à quelles unités il a été affecté. Ses restes reposent au cimetière Westminster Memorial Park, dans la section Garden of Olives.
